Cost analysis and negotiation.

We take control.

From the moment you instruct us we’ll save you time, money and hassle.

We swiftly scrutinise the legal costs bill on your behalf.  Our aim is to check whether the costs you’ve been asked to pay are a fair and accurate reflection of the work involved.

We typically find that in virtually every instance schedules and formal bills will include costs, which are unrepresentative of the work involved, and the amount you’ve been asked to pay is higher than it should be. In these cases we begin the process of negotiation, using a combination of our legal and technical know-how to seek a fair and realistic reduction of the other side’s bill.

Tried and Tested.

We don’t entertain unsubstantiated arguments that have no legal or technical grounding and we don’t tolerate those occasional blatant attempts to inflate costs.

What we do, as a minimum, is look pragmatically to reduce your liability and any unnecessary padding in the following areas:

  • Inaccuracies
  • Irrelevant work
  • Inappropriately claimed disbursements
  • Breaches in the Solicitor’s Code of Conduct
  • Hourly rate and experience of fee earners -v- complexity of claim
  • Material breaches of statute, rules, practice directions or contract affecting recoverability

On a typical case it takes us an average of 30 days to complete the negotiation process.  During this time we maintain the momentum through a combination of phone calls, email and letters – all backed up with reports designed to your specification – so you know what’s going on with your cases at any given time in the negotiation process.

Confident in reviewing, negotiating and securing reductions on costs bills from £500 to in excess of £20million, our team can successfully negotiate a reduction in costs on all of the claims where costs are excessive.
